Authearth - a firm place to move the Earth, by Adrian Cabedo
I have developed a new website Authearth for writers and artists to publish their work and enter competitions for prizes. The monthly prizes of £50/$100 are in the following categories:

- best art
- best audio content (book, poetry, interviews)
- best cartoon
- best poem
- best book review
- best book chapter
- best featured article (can be about news, politics, science, anything really..)

The winner and runner up in each category are chosen by members and entered into the annual prize of £500/$1000 for each category (to be chosen by a panel of judges). Over the next 12 months we hope to get existing publishers and mainstream writers involved in judging and setting up collaborative competitions to help raise writer's profiles.

At the moment the site is just in English but over the next 12 months we would like to create a group of volunteer translators to translate great English quotes and poems into any worldwide language (and also great foriegn language poems and quotes into English). A wiki approach if you like.

All help, ideas and involvement gratefully received! :)

Hi Peter. Will the content on Authearth be freely licensed?

Hi Daniela, it consists of art, poetry, articles, book reviews etc. and the content can be reproduced on a not for profit basis with a suitable reference to Authearth and the members.

Does that assist?
Best
Pete

How about using Creative Commons licences for the website and the content uploaded to it?

Armida Hi, Peter. I would include the following tags: author, literary, mixed media, translators, writers wanted.....

I agree with Daniela about licencing provisions. Creative people want fairness and protections.
